Dr. Estrin earned his Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Indiana University before completing his DMD degree at the LECOM School of Dental Medicine in Florida. He went on to specialize in periodontology at Stony Brook University in New York, where he completed a three year residency focused on dental implants and periodontal regenerative therapy. He is certified by the American Board of Periodontology.

A Personal Connection to Periodontics

Dr. Estrin's interest in periodontics began long before he entered dentistry. As a teenager, he underwent ridge augmentation, dental implant placement, and gingival grafting for congenitally missing lower front teeth. During his treatment, his surgeon, Dr. Randolph Resnik, introduced him to the concept of osseointegration, sparking a curiosity about the science behind implant dentistry and regenerative therapy. Years later, while pursuing his dental education, he found himself drawn to the same procedures he had experienced as a patient. This personal connection, combined with his interest in science, technology, and improving patient care, ultimately led him to pursue periodontics and continues to shape his approach to the specialty today.

Today, Dr. Estrin practices in Bradenton, FL, where he combines evidence-based care with a commitment to continued innovation. Despite being a full-time clinician, he remains deeply involved in research and education, with more than 50 publications and four book chapters to his name — and counting. His professional interests continue to focus on regenerative dentistry and bridging the gap between scientific research and real-world clinical application.

Teaching & Academic Involvement

In addition to private practice, Dr. Estrin serves as adjunct faculty at the LECOM School of Dental Medicine and the University of Iowa, sharing his expertise in regenerative therapy. He is also a lead educator for PRFedu, where he trains other clinicians in platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) and other emerging regenerative techniques.
